YouTube - Lone Justice Ways to be wicked

I'm not particularly impressed with this video, but it's still the best song evar.

EDIT: holy shit, Tom Petty wrote it.

Comments:

Heh. You coulda just asked me; I was a huge Lone Justice fan back then.

McKee had a solo career, or may still have one, but the two LJ records were really the extent of her consistent output. If I recall correctly, "Shelter" has a largely different lineup than the first record, though.
Chet, I doubt I would have been able to even ask well enough for you to know what I was talking about.

I repeatedly attempted to describe the song to people, but I couldn't remember *any* of the lyrics really, just a general feel. I would say things like, "It sounded like Dolly Parton with Tom Petty's Heartbreakers as her backup band", and people would just scratch their heads.

A similar thing happened when trying to figure out the artist and title of "Go All The Way" by the Raspberries. People pointed me in the direction of everything from Queen to Bob Seger.
Well, true enough. Thanks to your post, though, I spent more than an hour last night on YouTube 80s-pop archeology. Dang, Maria McKee was hot in 1985.

I'm also incredibly annoyed that neither LJ record has made it to my iTunes yet, so I have to wait until Friday to hear the real deal.
