Speaking of nerds, I recently saw the movie Revolution OS. You know that something has gone wrong with our culture a documentary about Linux, consisting mostly of interviews with aging Nerds - with much the rest being footage from CNN -, is widescreen! Microsoft kb article about how to make the Paint program deal with file formats other than BMP. Turns out that it relies on Microsoft Office to support the file formats (as a Windows PC without office just doesn't have the capability). And even then you sometimes have to (as I did on the new PC I just got at work) force Paint to open the files for the first time before it will start to recognize them as graphics files.
